5 Hollywood Horror Movies that could have Used GPS for Better Outcome

Wide eyes, Rapid Breathing, Sweaty Palms, etc. are some of the usual effects of watching a horror movie. Perhaps, you may never be able to question the story of a movie. But, sometimes you may feel that you could change the fate of a character by using technology.

One of the valuable technologies that may prove useful in such movies is the GPS technology. Obviously, you can save the life of a character by using a GPS vehicle tracking system. In a horror movie, you will be able to see a character trapped in an unknown location shouting for help.

If they made use of a GPS-enabled vehicle tracker, the real-time location of that character could have been found out and thus save them from danger at the right time. Here follows some movies that could have used a GPS for a better outcome:

1. The Blair Witch Project

The Blair Witch Project‘ is a psychological horror film, which tells the story of three filmmakers who disappeared in Burkitsville woods. They were found missing while shooting a documentary on the local legend of ‘The Blair Witch’. It is shown in the film that they lose their map as they enter the woods, gets trapped inside the woods and hear scary sounds.

One year later, their camera footage is recovered, but their bodies never were. At this juncture, you may wish they had made use of GPS trackers for their trip. If they did, you can easily visualize the way they would have come out of woods as heroes.

2. The Mist

The Mist‘ is an American science fiction based horror film. This film begins with the descent of a heavy mist and many people are left abandoned in a grocery store.

After some time, they realize that a dangerous cannibal is out in the mist. Several people get killed by the monster, as they try to escape.

The film would have been less complicated, if they had used a guide with access to real time GPS data. This valuable tracking solution could have helped the group of people to move out of the misty streets fearlessly.

3. The Hitcher

The Hitcher‘ is an American road action horror film. Jim Hasley, hero in the film, has to deliver a vehicle from Chicago to San Diego.

During his journey, he meets a dangerous hitchhiker, John, who murders everyone that offer him transportation. Jim narrowly escapes from the hitchhiker.

The movie would have been less complex, if a fleet manager closely monitors Jim and gives warning to Jim via the GPS vehicle tracking system.

This would have enabled him to refuse John’s request to travel along with him and complete his task to deliver the vehicle without much dismay.

4. Jeepers Creepers

Jeepers Creepers‘ is an American horror film, which begins with a brother and sister enjoying a ride in the Florida countryside. Suddenly, they are followed by a wretched truck driver and their funny mood transforms into a serious one.

If the truck was installed with a GPS vehicle tracking system, the truck driver would have been caught by his fleet manager for over speeding and the siblings would have continued their nonchalant journey.

5. The Shining

The Shining‘ is a British-American psychological horror film, which tells the story of a young man called Jack Torrance and his family. Jack becomes the caretaker of Overlook Hotel up in the Colorado mountains and he took his wife and son to the hotel to accompany him.

While staying in the hotel, Jack’s son have strange visions by a force called “The Shining” and he becomes desperate altogether.

At the climax of that movie, you will be able to see Jack haunted by demons in the Hotel as he undergoes mental break down and the whole situation becomes nasty.

When you look deeply into the whole situations in the film, you will be able to know how useful it would have been, if they have used a tracking system for their journey.

Using GPS trackers, they could have called someone for help and the rescue team could have saved them at the right time.

Conclusion

By careful analysis of the films listed above, you will know how a GPS vehicle tracking system helps the characters in the films in danger and thereby, reduce their suffering. Hence, installing trackers in a vehicle can add the security and safety of drivers as well as others on the road.
